Ferro Alloy
Alloys are metals made by combining two or more metallic elements, especially to give greater strength or resistance to corrosion. In case of Ferro Alloys, one element is Ferrous (commonly known as Iron) the other element could be Manganese, Chromium or Aluminum and non-metallic chemical elements such as Silicon, Carbon along with other minerals (in traces). Ferro Alloy is primarily used as an additive for manufacturing Iron and Steel products. Ferro Alloys serve the purpose of achieving significant qualities such as metallic bonding, hardness and strength modification, anti-corrosiveness, ductility, tensile strength or heat resistance, also for deoxidization and removing unwanted impurities like Sulphur or Phosphorus from the steel component. The varying requirements of such qualities are achieved with different proportions of the materials forming the Alloy, which further classifies the type of Ferro Alloy.
